“Keys to the Future”

My apologies for the radio silence all week… our house is up for sale, and while there have been some interesting developments, I’m saving them for another post… trust me, you’ll wanna read that one! Things got all Murphy’s Law on us…

In the meantime, I have another “reno” progress to share with you! its not quite a full-on reno, really more of a taking-a-white-box-and-making-it-a-home decorating story. Two of my besties have finally taken the plunge and gotten an apartment together! And this is monumental because, well, we’re 26/27, and they are moving out of their parent’s houses!  We’ve got our big girl boots on now! ( Sorry guys, had to!)

They looked at a bunch of places, and finally settled on a 2 bed/2 bath/ 2 balcony 2-year old low-rise condo building. Like any new condo, it’s basically a white box; white walls, white-ish carpet, white kitchen, etc.,  which gives them a great blank canvas for them to start with. Because it is their first place, they are bringing almost nothing with them in terms of furniture & decor and are bringing everything in from outside sources, so it really gives them a chance to explore their own styles and create a space that, for the first time, is truly “them”.

Today I’m sharing the ‘before’ photos with you. This was after they got possession, and had brought a few things in, but were still very early days:

And in case my photo’s didn’t do it justice, here’s a the floor plan of the apartment: 211 floorplan

I’m excited what they turn this space into. I’ve been helping them with shopping/ thrifting/ advising, so I’ll share their progress with you as they go along!
